Which mobile devices work with the Celsium app?

Apple devices with iOS 10.0 and above.

Android devices with Android 8.0 and above.

How can I monitor someone's temperature remotely?

Ensure there's a mobile device using Celsium to monitor the person's temperature. That device must also be connected to the internet. You can then sign into the same Celsium account from a different mobile device and the app will automatically mirror the temperature readings.

What do the LED indicator lights indicate?

A single blink at one-second intervals indicates that the thermometer needs to be connected with the mobile app on a smart phone or tablet, in order to synchronise any readings it may have stored on the thermometer itself.

A single blink at four-second intervals indicates that the thermometer's power is on.

The remaining LED lit indicates low power and that the battery needs to be charged or changed.

How long can a single patch be used?

We suggest not wearing the patch for more than 24 hours in the same position and moving the Celsium thermometer to the other armpit if needed.

Note: We suggest that carers check from time to time to make sure there is no skin irritation.

Having trouble staying connected?

The Celsium uses Bluetooth 4.0 technology, meaning it's a low energy connection so that it is safe and saves power. For this reason we suggest keeping the smartphone or tablet in use within ten feet of the device, even though the actual range may be larger. Keeping the smartphone on the same side of the body that the Celsium device is attached to will also improve the connection.

In order to ensure a continuous connection, the app alerts you when the connection is lost and it will automatically reconnect when the device comes back within range.

What is Celsium's battery life?

At 8 hours per day the battery should last 120 days. However, frequent disconnection and reconnection may use the power more quickly.

The battery type is CR2025.

Can I use other apps on the smartphone or tablet when monitoring someone's temperature with Celsium?

When you are using another app on the phone or tablet, the Celsium app is no longer shown on the screen and is put into the background. This also happens when the screen is locked - iOS by default disconnects the wireless connection to save battery power. This does not mean the Bluetooth connection is severed - Celsium will continue monitoring temperature even when the app isn't actually displayed on your screen.

Note that when the app is in the background you can only monitor temperature locally, not remotely.

Note also that if the app is running in the background and the device becomes disconnected the automatic reconnection feature will not work. Even local temperature monitoring will not work in this case.

Does Celsium record body temperature accurately?

Yes it does! Celsium is one of the very few clinically validated consumer thermometers. In other words, our device has been tested and approved using a clinical trial approach to compare its reading of core temperature with one of the current gold standards for core temperature monitoring in operating rooms. The conclusions were that Celsium can be used in a wide variety of clinical settings, as an accurate reference point for doctors.
